DLVE-SLP: Distance Learning in VA Educating Speech Language Pathologists
Special Announcement:
Unfortunately, the DLVE-SLP program is not immune from state and national funding issues that we hear about almost daily. DLVE-SLP has experienced significant cuts in funding for the upcoming year. As a result, admission of the 2009 cohort will be postponed. We hope to be able to admit a student cohort in the following year but are unable to make guarantees at this point.
If you have already submitted all or portions of your candidacy packet for review, we will keep this information on file. While we sincerely regret the difficulties that this postponement may cause, please be assured that the DLVE-SLP Board is actively working on finding solutions. We are wholeheartedly committed to this important program. Please check the website for updates as they become available in the future. Thank you for your ongoing support of the DLVE-SLP program.
Objective
This project was created in response to the shortage of qualified speech language pathologists across the country and specifically in the public schools of Virginia. Hampton University, James Madison University, Longwood University and the University of Virginia have teamed together to be able to provide access to an accredited Masters degree in speech language pathology through distance education technologies.
Targeted Applicant
This project is designed for persons interested in earning a Masters degree in speech language pathology on a part time basis through online technology. "Career changers" and educators are encouraged to apply. This project is supported by a grant from the Virginia Department of Education. Virginia state residents will be given first priority.
Please note: The demand from VA for admission into the program is expected to fulfill the available seats in the next cohort.
